mjaa, I didn't studied german at school
I have watched german tv channels over SAT about 5 years (PRO7, SAT1, RTL2 etc) and so I learned german to speak and read and I understand german much better than english

and therefore I prefer german php books

ok, I understand ... understanding is always easier than speaking (or writing)

Maybe you got me wrong. I mean: writing in German get's you probably more answers, because many people here don't speak English, and wouldn't it be a good practice for you?
